First of all a warm welcome back to club - hope everyone had an enjoyable Summer Break. Apologies for the unexpected closure of Christys Club on September 4th, this was due to a problem with booking a caretaker for the building. We shall try not to let this happen again.
On Wednesday, September, 30th we will be officially opening a brand new media room/recording studio here at Murrayside Youth Center. The facility will effectively enable users to record their own music CD’s, with mixing, editing, and special effects equipment all being available. The opening event will run from 5-8pm, with members, parents/carers, and staff from all groups who use this building being invited to attend. As well as the official opening, the event will include a buffet, pool/table-tennis tournaments, a hair and beauty session, and a cooking activity, with members having the opportunity to demonstrate the things they enjoy most at their club in a safe environment.
Next big event will be on Friday, October 23rd, when we will be holding an end of half term Halloween party. Times for this event will be 7-10pm. If people want to they can have either Fish and Chips, or Chinese take-away on the night in question, please complete the form at the bottom of this letter, saying which one you would like, and return by Friday October 2nd. This is so people can vote for the take-away they prefer – the take-away with the most votes will be the one we go to. (More details to follow after October 2nd.) Fancy dress is recommended for this scary night!
Finally, please remember we’ll be closed on Friday, October 30th for half term.

Just to let you all know that as next week (Friday July 17th) is our last week of term, we will be having an end of term BBQ and disco. Club will be extended until 9.30, and we will be providing burgers, sausages, bread etc. If you have any specific dietary needs, please feel free to bring your own food. Club admission fee for this night will be £1 as normal.
Since this will be the last night of term, we would like to wish everyone a happy safe and prosperous Summer Holiday, and we hope to see everyone back to Club on Friday September 4th. Unless you’re going on holiday with us, in which case we will see you in Blaxhall on August 10th. More details to follow soon. Either way, hope you all have an enjoyable break.

Club Demonstration!

Just to let everyone know that on Friday, May 15th at 7.30pm, Alex and Ruth will be giving us another one of their fantastic plasticine model demonstrations. Both are very good at making model engines and similar items, and make a great demonstration team. The demo will take place in the main room at Christys Club, and the more who come to watch the merrier, as it will be well worth it!

On Friday April 3rd, we will be holding an Easter party, times for which will be 7-10pm. Once again we will be taking orders for the Nacton Road Fish Bar, the menu for which can be requested by sending an e-mail to studentsc1@btopenworld.com In order to avoid the errors that occurred last time, we will only be accepting orders which have been placed using the form below and handed into club by Friday March 20th. (Although orders can still be taken via e-mail, upto 7pm on Sunday, March 29th, but absolutely no later please.) There will also be two members of staff over-seeing the orders on the night of the party. Please bring the right money if possible - this would be much appreciated. It would also be helpful if this could be contained in an envelope, and is handed in no later than 7.30 on the night of April 3rd.
