Christys was founded in the late 1980's with an aim to giving people of mixed abilities the chance to mix and get along with each other. In the earlier days, we met in St. Christopher’s Church Hall; we now meet at much better premises in Murryfield Youth Centre on Nacton road, Ipswich. With a friendly atmosphere with growing numbers of members and helpers all of mixed ability, the club is constantly going from strength to strength. We take positive action to include people of all abilities in everything that we do - even when it comes to members of staff and helpers, which include a loyal team made up of both paid workers and volunteers of all abilities who give up their evenings week after week, to ensure that the club is run successfully and smoothly. The club now meets once a week on Friday Evenings, for people aged 13-25. For older people, there is an adults social Evening (formally Christys Club Tuesday) which meets at the Genesis project on Wright Road Ipswich, on Tuesday Evenings. For more information, please click on our Membership page.
